Via mobile.mail.ru find the results to the crash test that was performed at the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, terminal Symbian S60 5th edition, recently had the opportunity to inform you that have already been done these tests and there was still the expectation.

5800-ct-4 5800-ct-3

Here are the tests that has undergone a terminal:

  • Cold: in the freezer for 12 hours at -20 ° C (the temperature at night in Russia during the winter)
  • Fall from the top: 1.6 m and 1 m
  • Pressure: 60 kg
  • Sand and dust: in the vacuum container for 5 minutes
  • Fluctuations: turn in the washer at 500 revolutions per minute for 5 minutes
  • Liquid: champagne for 10 seconds and water for 20 seconds
  • Pressure: Mitsubishi Eclipse

5800-ct-2 5800-ct-5

These are the results:

  • Cold: 2 of 5
  • Fall from the top: 5 of 5
  • Fluctuations: 5 of 5
  • Sand and dust: 4 of 5
  • Pressure: 3 of 5
  • Liquids: 3 of 5
  • Final score: 22 out of 30 points

The analysis of the results shows that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is not exactly a cell phone, but protection of plastic coating is very tough, durable and can withstand high pressures, even through the metal skeleton. The falls do not cause any damage to the phone and the motion sensor is working properly. The plastic is coated with anti-scratch and it is difficult to scratch, unlike what happens with the iPhone. Rising around the screen edges get protect from harm, even if the screen is only covered by a protective film and not a glass more resistant, in situations such as being crushed under the wheel of a car the protective film is the best solution, because the film does not break, be broken only the matrix and the cost is considerably lower. With respect to dust-proof, especially because it is a touchscreen and a few keys, the terminal remains almost perfect, the only drawback is that the headphone jack is filled with dust, but the rest is impenetrable.

The first weakness of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is the cold, because after the test was no longer able to function and had to wait half an hour before fully functioning, the HTC Diamond or iPhone from this point of view better behaved. The second weakness relates to liquids, because of the speakers and the sharing of the pen, with easy access to internal Lapart mobile phone, cell phones that work best in this situation are the iPhone and the Nokia E71, then a day of drying the terminal returns to work properly.

In conclusion, one can consider the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone reliable and well adapted to situations of everyday life.
