Purplera1n: How to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS

Every time they do it faster. Just been released on new Apple and already have it hacked. This method is valid for firmware 3.0 of the iPhone 3GS. The author has decided not to wait out the new firmware 3.1 and it has launched, albeit in beta. So if you do be careful, do not go to spoil your new iPhone.

What steps, we are told in EsferaiPhone with:

  1. Download the file you find on this page (for Windows only for now, XP recommended).
  2. We make sure we have the iPhone 3.0 firm 3GS in and have iTunes 8.2 installed on your pc.
  3. 3GS plugged the iPhone.
  4. Open Purplera1n.
  5. Click on "Make it ra1n.
  6. We hope that the program do its work.
  7. We will see an icon on the desktop Freeze knock the iPhone.
  8. The press and download Cydia (Internet connection required).
  9. If at the end, we see no Cydia, reboot the iPhone.

Note: For those who have problems running PurpleRa1n (closes when you click on Make it ra1n "), do the following:

  1. We create the folder path: C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Apple \ Mobile Device Support \ bin
  2. Let: C: \ Program Files \ Common Files \ Apple \ Mobile Device Support \ bin and copy the file "iTunesMobileDevice.dll.
  3. Taped on the route that we created in step 1.
  4. Purplera1n run again.

The program only works under Windows (and not Windows 7) and the author announces that next week it will have on Mac and W7.
