Rumor: Nokia Maemo future Harmattan
May 25th, 2009 | by DanielP
"Maemo Harmattan is a name that sounds, but we may sound a lot more in the future. Harmattan is the new Maemo or proprietary operating system that works in Nokia, designed for large screen phones (tablets, etc.).
It is a linux based operating system and uses much widgets. That is why we need a good size screen to view it. We read also that the system of widgets, could include any kind of advertising, which would receive news, discounts and promotions from our operator mobile, or information on discounted rates, offers, etc ... if we get caught with mobile the street (thanks to GPS) and we passed a department store, shop, restaurants ... that would appear immediately reflected and might be interested.
Will the "Maemo Harmattan" the operating system itself from Nokia, abandoning the Symbian S60?. Here you leave a screen that has leaked about this OS, would not be available until 2011, according to the rumor.
