Mail Settings Symbian (S60)

November 1st, 2007 | by Cento

To carry out the mail settings in your Symbian S60 terminals have to follow the following steps:
1 Check that the terminal has successfully set up and working internet connection to the operator who have contracted the line, if you have not done the configuration you can use the following tutorial.
2nd Once these checks must follow the following route:

Menu -> Messages -> Options -> Settings -> Mail -> Options -> New Mailbox

3rd assistant then start-> Type: "POP3" and then click Next.

4th Address: ejemplo@gmail.com and click Next.

5th Incoming Mail Server: pop.gmail.com and click Next. *
6th Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.gmail.com and click Next. *
7 th Access Point: Always Ask (or to be used) and click Next.

8th mailbox name: "GMAIL" and click Finish.

We now 9th and then the mailbox created the following route:

Options -> Mail Settings -> Connection Settings-> Incoming Mail

Data were collected here is asking us.
10th User Name: ejemplo@gmail.com

11 º Password: password Our

12 º Like the rest of data are already made, we move to the option "Security" and here select "SSL / TLS if your mail is Gmail if Off is selected.
After 13th on the "Port" can leave it in default if the mail belongs to another server if the mail is gmail you have to select "User defined = 995". **

Finally 14th pressing back and then checked the outgoing mail and do the same thing but with the incoming port: 465. **
15 º If you want to retrieve the terminal post and the entire contents of this work can do by going into the mailbox to Options -> Mail Settings -> Recovery Settings -> Mail to Retrieve -> Mens. and Attachments.
Following all these steps already have the mail settings in our terminals, remember that this is valid for all the mail accounts other than Hotmail, unless these are paid for, if you have not paid Hotmail accounts and you want the mail in your terminal throw him out this article.
For just testing you have to go into the mailbox created and then click Options -> Create Message -> New Mail, then type in the address which will send such mail (may be the same email to configure the terminal with the test case) and then select options to send, once posted this indicates that the terminal is configured correctly for the shipping, then press Options -> Lost Mail -> New, this is to verify that the terminal the retrieved correctly.
* The type of server, both inbound and outbound, depending on its specification in some cases instead of using "pop" and "smtp" use "mail" for both incoming and outgoing example mail.servidor.com

** If your mail server is different from Gmail and ports you want to enter data manually the serial ports 110 for incoming and 25 for outgoing.

Gmail now allows use imap, I recommend that you enable JavaScript in your Gmail account settings and then put imap.gmail.com mailbox on the server.

Tests and said, as to the port at a time tsl Enabling you can stop the defaults.

The theme has enabled gmail Imap few months ago and the truth is that to me is an improvement over the pop3. By keeping the mails and the structure of your mail server level, you can have folders in the phone as you have them in outlook, webmail in gmail.

Check in the mail settings / ajuestes recovery / subscribe to folders From there you can add any folders you have already created very useful if you have multiple accounts and mail filters.

The configuration is as above, all you have to do is replace the data on your account in Gmail.

If you're stuck in somewhere Discuss.

As for what the code can not help you, the standard for all nokia is 12345, if you have changed I can not tell.
